What is Silent Protocol?

Silent Protocol is a composable privacy protocol dedicated to encrypting Ethereum, enhancing security and confidentiality across the network. Silent Protocol introduces the Ghost Layer, a modular Layer 1.5 solution embedded with its innovative Protocol Owned Yield (POY) layer. This mechanism redistributes yield ownership to protocol participants, fostering a more equitable ecosystem. Built on the EZEE framework, the Ghost Layer provides a secure value transfer layer, enabling users to privately transfer assets and interact with existing smart contract applications at scale.

The Ghost Layer: The First Secure Value Transfer Layer on Ethereum

The Ghost Layer, the cornerstone of Silent Protocol, allows users to send money to ANYONE on the Ethereum blockchain both anonymously and confidentially - even if the user is not aware of the Ghost Layer.

Privacy protocols have been limited in scope from the very beginning- especially implementation on Ethereum. A user could send assets anonymously, but the recipient would need to be registered on the same privacy protocol to access the funds. Think of it like this: if you have an account with Bank A, you can only send money to someone with an account on Bank A. THIS IS THE PROBLEM. Silent Protocol addresses this challenge by enabling post-validation state synchronicity within its ZK layer, ensuring seamless and private interactions across the Ethereum ecosystem without requiring recipients to take additional steps.

Protocol Owned Yield (POY)

The Ghost Layer is a yield-generating super machine.

The Ghost Layer not only facilitates secure transactions but also maximizes the productive use of assets within the ecosystem. Through the Protocol Owned Yield (POY) layer, yield is generated and redistributed to participants—an innovative approach that establishes a framework for rewarding early participants based on their contributions to the Ghost Layer.

This is a novel twist on yield-sharing mechanisms: the protocol itself owns the yield and distributes it equitably to participants through a three-token model—GHOST, SHHHHHH, and SILENT.

EZEE & 0dApps

The Economical Zero-Knowledge Execution Environment (EZEE) is a hybrid ZK architecture designed to optimize system performance by enabling updates in beats rather than atomically. By defeating state denial and establishing the world’s first composable privacy-preserving framework, EZEE empowers developers to build a robust ecosystem of privacy-preserving applications seamlessly integrated with Ethereum.

0dApps: Zero-Knowledge Decentralized Applications

0dApps are client-facing applications that form the execution layer, integrated with a SNARK-powered encryption layer and powered by EZEE. With the support of the Ghost Layer, 0dapps enable users to interact with pre-existing smart contract applications in a fully composable, privacy-preserving manner, ensuring both functionality and confidentiality.

Silent Compliance Stack

Silent Protocol has developed its innovative Silent Compliance VM, leveraging a DKG (Distributed Key Generation) scheme to establish the Silent Compliance Committee. This committee upholds the vision of a compliant ecosystem, staying true to Silent Protocol’s core ethos of decentralization and its mission to prevent bad actors from infiltrating the Silent ecosystem. The Silent Compliance Stack further integrates Silent ID and Risk Score functionalities, enabled through a seamless Predicate integration, ensuring trust and integrity within the ecosystem.

[Redacted] and 0VM (Zero VM) Development

Silent Protocol is developing [Redacted], now live and integrated within the Ghost Layer at version 1.0. It will undergo upgrades to fully implement its whitepaper features. More details on the 0VM, a core component of the Ghost Layer, will be released later in 2025.
